This is a digital scan of the medium format film i shot about a month and a half ago. I had found my great grandfathers old brownie box camera, and I decided to refurbish the old thing into working condition. In hopes that I could find some old film for it online. While refurbishing it I was excited to see the shutter worked smoothly and it was light tight. I started searching online for film only to find that film was not made for it anymore. It had been discontinued in the 70's.

This was a bit dis-heartening, I was pretty excited to shoot with a camera that years ago was in the hands of my great grandfather. After a few talks with some fellow deviants I heard a rumor you can shoot with new film, but you would have to do some modifications to the camera. I searched again online and found that this was true. 120mm film (medium format) rolls are about the same size as the old 620mm rolls.

So I got in contact with my old photography teacher from high school. He was very interested in my idea and even offered to fund the project out of pocket. He gave me a few rolls of 120 film to try and re-spool and on my second attempt I was able to re-roll it onto the 620 spool, successfully in a black room. I was all set to start shooting, but what?

While in Boston for the weekend with my father. We had traveled their to tour two art colleges. After the first tour it was about noon and my father being a die hard redsox fan, it was befitting that we ended up at the ticket box. We picked up tickets behind home plate, and we were able to catch a tour of the ball park pre-game. This picture was taken while on the green monster, looking back at home plate.
